Modify provider compatibility

You can set the provider compatibility for all services and devices in Cimpl. This ensures that users can only select compatible services and devices after select a provider.

View provider information:

  1. Go to Configuration > Administraton > Catalog Management.
  2. Select an item. The record opens on the Details pane.
  3. Select the Available Providers.
  4. Select a provider. The provider's SKU code for the item opens (if already entered - SKU is not a mandatory field), along with the price of the service and the currency.
  5. If applicable, adjust the SKU code, price, and currency.
  6. Click Apply to save your changes or Cancel to exit without saving changes.

Add a provider to the compatible provider list:

  1. Click the Add Provider link at the top of the list of compatible providers.

    Note: If there are no providers available for your selected item, you need to set provider and service type compatibility in Providers first.

  2. A blank record opens with the following fields:
    • Provider - a drop-down with all active providers.
    • SKU Code - a text box into which you may enter SKU codes.
    • Price - allows you to enter a price for the asset.
    • Select Currency - a drop-down menu that lists the currency in which prices are quoted.
    • Select or enter information into these fields as required.
  3. Select the self-service actions you want available for the provider. A sub menu opens.

    Note: You can select which self-service actions are available for an asset. You can set different actions for each available provider of that asset.

  4. For Authorized Requester, select:
    • Anyone. This options means the action is available to everyone.

      OR

    • Restricted. Select an Employee group to assign the action to members of that group only.

  5. Select All Organizations.

  6. Click Apply to save your changes or click Cancel to exit without saving changes.
